July 2012: Annual Cricket Fixture

MK Surveys vs Technical & Development Services
A warm July evening was the setting for the annual (friendly!) cricket fixture between MK Surveys and a mixed team from TDS Midlands, TDS Southern & KCS Services. TDS got off to an excellent start with both openers making 25 before Lewis Hook ripped the heart out of their middle order with 3 wickets in 3 balls and TDS ended their innings on 149 for 6. The MK Surveys response was an excellent all-round team performance. Rob Ellis, Nick Clarke and Gareth Collins all made 25, but it was the running between the wickets of Ben (Yes Ben), Steve G and Martin, that saw us home with two overs to spare. The evening ended with a few beers and a BBQ before Paul Fleming presented the Ted Lawton Cup to Lewis Hook the MK Surveys Hat-trick Hero.

June 2012: Abingdon bun throwing

MK Surveys Oxford office recently spent an afternoon assisting Mr James May (Top Gear, Man Lab) by surveying the distances to the surrounding buildings from the top of Abingdon County Hall.
"Top Gear presenter James May has helped throw 6,000 buns in Abingdon as part of Diamond Jubilee celebrations across Oxfordshire.
The town hosted its 250-year-old royal tradition from the roof of the county hall.
May was asked to help come up with a contraption to fire buns at the hard-to-reach parts of the crowd as part of his TV show Man Lab.
TV star May pitted his machine against two champion throwers as 6,000 buns took to the sky - 100 buns for every year of the Queen's reign." worldofbunthrowing
